Hello! I am Evgeniya Plotnikova, a ceramic artist and a practicing architect. Born and raised in Siberia, I have lived in Chicago, New York and currently reside in Seattle. My journey in ceramics started in a Brooklyn clay studio with the interest of releasing a creative energy and exploring my fascination with the material. The interest grew into passion that led to setting up a home studio to play and clay. Designs are developed by experimenting with hand building techniques.
My works are functional Art. Most of them are vessels that hold a water, others hold a space. They act as a vase for a single flower or a bouquet, while they are sculptural and articulated to be object dβart in and of themselves. They are full of vitality, and if you were to listen to them carefully, they might tell you some of their secrets.
